Default Small Body in the future

So I had a Gibson LG2 50’s reissue and loved the size hated the neck as it was too big and chunky. The sound was so so but not my cup of tea. Tried an eastman e10 ooss/v a few weeks ago and it was pretty great for what it is. The neck was fine and the sound was pretty good.

Last night tried a Martin CEO-7 and it was really great, neck was good and the sound was really great for a smaller body. Tried a standard Gibson L00 couple of weeks ago also and it was just kinda ok to me.

Trying to try out as many smaller bodied guitars as I can before I buy something else that I wont like.

Any other suggestions from yall? I play out once or twice a month and sing, I find myself playing my Larivee Om more than the dreads due to comfort.

Thanks in advance

don't forget the 'meat and potatoes' i.e. Martin 00-18. I actually liked it better than the CEO-7....which was a good guitar, the 00-18 just was more balanced across the tone spectrum where I felt the CEO was more of that Blues sound. A littler too much mid for me.
If you sing you might want to thing about which frequency your voice is in and find something that compliments it... I have a a harshy bright vocal tone so I wanted something smoother
..and when I play out, I use an OM-28 as it is like having a pianist support me..really holds the bottom together. i haven't got to play many 00-28's, but someone poster a Pre-war version in the classifieds that sounds pretty darn good..if that's in your budget

A Taylor Grand Concert is another really good option. I own a GTe and a AD11e and really like both. I also have an LG-2 and a 000-17 so you could say I really like smaller body guitars.

Yes, do check out the 00, small bodied all hog guitars can be really full and resonant. A Guild M-20 might also be an option. If you have deeper pockets the Santa Cruz H series could be a good match.

Here's a quick video of my own all hog which is in between a 0 and 00.

I prefer the 00-18 over the CEO-7 as well. Also, check out Larrivee. I'm a bit slanted toward Martin I admit, but my Larrivee 00-40M has really got it's hooks in me lately. The Larrivee has a more defined, articulate sound with great note seperation.

Check into Alvarez' Masterworks series of parlors as well as the new Laureate series that has a couple of parlors. I actually just got the Laureate and will be posting my impressions about it later on in the day. Here is a link to the Laureate page on the Alvarez site https://alvarezguitars.com/laureate/ and the Masterworks page on the Alvarez site https://alvarezguitars.com/masterworks/

I agree about Santa Cruz. A used 1929-00 all mahogany, that I really should have bought right there and then, is one of the two best small guitars I ever had in my hands.
New, they are very expensive though.

My 2013 LG2 American Eagle has a slim neck. Wonderful tone and playability.

Like most things size is relative. I still love my dreadnaught HD-28, but I really enjoy my smaller guitars - Eastman E2OM-CD and Martin 000-15SM.

I've been checking out parlor guitars as well at my friend's consignment shop. He's got a Martin 0-18 that is hard to put down.

Depending on your price range, a couple that come to mind: H&D T-0014, Collings 00 (12 or 14 fret), Collings single 0, Martin 00-18, Martin 00-28, and any of the smaller bodied builds from Atkin.

Good luck!
