I always used metal fingerpicks but decided to stop using them. I am going to try the Alaska picks for the fun of it. As long as I have been playing, I have never tried them. I will report back if they may be a good idea, from my perspective.

I like Fred Kelly Freedom picks too, although they are not very popular around here. I use Fred Kelly Freedom picks to both finger pick and to strum. They are one of the few fingerpicks that can be used to do down strokes which is necessary for strumming. Also, I spray them with flex seal to keep them from slipping.
