Jackson Browne was buying ALL the vintage 17 series Martins he could find at one stage there, about 7-8 years back....

I have often read here in this very forum that blues players love mahogany top guitars, but honestly I can't think of one well known bluesman that I have seen playing one. Anyone know some?

Not just blues fingerstyle players that like small hog guitars. Many fingerstyle vocalist like small hog guitars, like Aiofe O'Donovan and her 34 martin 0. She talks about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw3wkjVfbwE&t=3s

My favorite comment on one of the youtube posts of this video: “The guitar needed a cigarette after that song.”

Didn’t Robert Johnson played an L-1, too?

Diego Garcia "The Twanguero". He is considered one of the best Spanish acoustic guitar players.

Beat me to it - that's the first guy I thought of when reading the title. Probably my favorite "new" artist of the last 10 years. What a voice, and no slouch as a guitar picker, too!

Valerie June is one of my favorite artists and frequently plays her Martin 00-15M when performing. She gets great tone but her playing is secondary to her vocals and her vocals stand out nicely over her guitar sound.

Jeff Tweedy even has a Martin all-hog signature 00-DB Jeff Tweedy model.

Neither of these artists are flashy fingerstyle players but that may be why they play all-hog guitars. They don't get in the way of their vocals, especially being smaller bodied mahogany guitars. In between the vocals these guitars sound sweet, balanced, and expressive.

Me, too! My everyday player was a ton cheaper than a Waterloo 12mh, but I totally understand the sentiment.

For the last couple years I've been exclusively all mahogany player.
