Default Who are some of your favorite all mahogany players

Looking from some all mahogany inspiration. It seems a lot of folks say all mahogany is great for fingerstyle - who are some of your favorites?

Are you asking for a person or a model of guitar?

Before I bought my Martin 000-15M, I tried a Taylor AD22 head to head with it. I liked the Martin far more. I had previously played a Martin 000-15 Streetmaster and found it quite playable and I liked the tone. However, I am constantly amazed at the great tone and playability of the 000-15M for fingerstyle. I have it strung with Thomastik 111's.

Mark Goldenberg has a Collings 001mh 12-fret in his stable. (He often plays with Eric Skye, who posts here).

Kenneth Pattengale of The Milk Carton Kids favors vintage Martin 0-15 guitars, but he’s not a fingerpicker.

Here's a group of recordings I made, all on a Martin 000-15M. I'm definitely not my own favorite player, but I like the sound I get here, and if mahogany is your thing, this might be your thing too.

Kenneth Pattengale (Milk Carton Kids) plays a 1954 Martin 0-15. He's a great player, very much in the style of Dave Rawlings.

Strangely, his Martin signature model has a torrified spruce top, stained to look like mahogany.

Years ago I saw the band neutral milk hotel and the lead singer, Jeff magnum, was playing a Martin OM-15. Sounded great.

Player: Milk Carton Kids' Kenneth Pattengale - fabulous !

Guitar: My 1934 Martin 017. Best all hog guitar I played. Had a 1952 0017 which was fine but very different. When thinning the herd it was pretty easy to decide which one to keep.

Colter Wall plays an old all-mahogany Martin. Sounds good to me.

John Doyle. Known as part of the Transatlantic Sessions house band, but a wonderful musician in his own right.
