Default What song started your guitar journey?

Whether it be "I want to play like this guy" or "I need to learn this song" what song inspired the start of your guitar journey?

Please provide the link of the song. Cheers.

It would have been Gloria is 66 or 67. My band was invited to play at our 6th grade year end party and Gloria was the only song we knew.

The song that really made me want to get a guitar was "A Hard Days Night". I didn't find out until years later a twelve string was what I was hearing. There were a couple of other contributing factors that led up to this. One day in 1963 some friends and I walked into the local grocery store. There was a rock band playing just inside the door. It was the Kingsmen who I knew nothing about at the time but I was intrigued. Then a kid in the neighborhood started on guitar and showed it to me. At that time he and I would go watch a neighborhood rock band that practiced on Sundays with the garage door open. I was impressed with how beautiful the guitars looked. Then I heard "A Hard Days Night". I told my parents I was going to get a guitar and bought a new Stella for $25. I had been taking piano lessons for over a year so I already knew how to read music and quickly passed up my guitar playing friend.

Dust In the Wind - had to learn that song…..that was the first FS song I learned 41 years ago…..still play it today and have made my own FS arrangement out of it…..it’s a great FS song to warm up with as well…haven’t used a pick since then….
