Careful, son. You're poking at the soft underbelly, so to speak, of acoustic guitar fan-dom.

There's only so many people in the world with both enough disposable income to be in the custom-guitar market and in interest in custom guitars in the first place. If you further restrict it to the 30-year-olds who meet the other two criteria...well, it wouldn't take a very big room to have a convention for them.

You're absolutely right. The "disposable income" portion in particular.

At a ripe old 31, I've got the interest but not the disposable income (especially with a six week old daughter already asking for movie money.)

I think the "maturity" of the members of this forum lends nicely to the overall atmosphere of this board. Being able to discuss guitars without hearing about the latest metal shred is refreshing. Don't get me wrong, I like a variety of music including some very loud stuff, but on the Internet "loud" usually goes hand-in-hand with "13 year old in Mom's basement."

I'm getting really afraid that one of the very first thing I do if/when I return to SoCal is to e-mail Peter for a custom request... The horror, the horror of GAS...

Hey Russ,

That neck is a new option Peter is trying out..it might be hard to tell but its a multi-piece neck hand carved out of some very very special materials which enable Peter to achieve that transparent effect. He hasn't decided whether or not to offer it as a standard with future Zions. Something about being able to set the neck and the nut adjustments...guess it gets kinda tricky

Save yourself the trouble and fear and get it over with now before you get back to SoCal. E-mails from Japan work just as well as e-mails from SoCal
