Default Replacement pickguard for Gibson L-00

Actually it's a new G-00, but it's the same size as the L-00 guard. Looking for a tortoise or fire stripe. I really don't like the look of the black guard. I've Googled it, but the only ones that keep coming up are on Ebay out of the UK.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Try Taylor Mullins at Holter Pickguards. He makes an excellent product in just about any shape or size.

Reach out to Eastman and see if you can buy one from them. Really good quality, good fire-stripe pattern and the right shape and size. I've gotten a couple replacement ones for actual Eastman guitars I've got, but they had them at the ready to send out...maybe they'd sell one.

I had Taylor make one for my AJ, which I believe is the same size. He will send you 2 templates so you are sure to get the correct size/soundhole radius.

Another really positive experience with Taylor Mullins. Made me one for my CEO-7, which I'd been playing without one for quite a while. He's not quick (or wasn't quick), but the result was well worth the wait...

I'm glad I spotted this thread. When I'm done working on my Texan, I need to get a fire stripe pickguard for my new G-45. And the Mini-Rotomatics have got to go, too.

The G-45 is a great sounding and playing guitar, and the one I got appears to be flawless inside and out. But I'd like it better with a fire stripe pickguard and some vintage Gotohs.

Did you buy one from Greasy Groove? I have in the past and their material is NOT TRANSPARENT so there is a white layer behind it that doesn't come off and is super cheap looking, so it doesn't look good at all. It's one reason they are so cheap because they use really cheap material.

No I didn't. I emailed them with a question, and never heard back. I wound up making my own.

I know this thread is several months old, but has anyone had any luck communicating with Holter Pickguards recently? I would like to replace the existing pickguard on a Gibson L-00 with a firestripe pickguard. I haven't had any luck hearing back from Taylor either via facebook or email. Other recommendations are welcome too. I also reached out to Terrapin and have not heard back.

I've tried several times to do business with Taylor and have never had any luck getting him to follow up and solidify anything. He seems like a really nice guy and does great work, but in my experience he really doesn't operate like a business. It's a shame because I would like to have his pickguards for a couple of guitars.
