Default Is this Brazilian?

What wood would you consider this laminate early 1970's acoustic is made of?
I say Brazilian laminate with maple lam wedge.
Another told me he thought is was not natural Brazilian but sort of colored/painted on.
It also has the same type of figuring inside, too, but does not match up.
Thanks for your informed opinions.

I can't say for sure, but it wouldn't affect price either way in case you're wondering. What make and model is it?

Not sure what the wedge is, but the outer wings look like Pau Ferro to me.

The laminate on the outer panels are two pieces each. It does not appear to be BRW.

No, it's not. It looks a bit like pau ferro, perhaps.

There are lots of tropical hardwoods around the world that are kind of "rosewood-ish" without actually being rosewood. This appears as though it might be one of them.

I hadn't read your post when I wrote mine, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who thinks that!

Absolutely! And since in this case it is just decorative veneer it would have no affect on the tone or value.

It is not BR.
It's four pieces of bookmatched veneer, most likely pau ferro (morado). Another possibility is Brazilian kingwood. Either way, it is not going to affect the value of a guitar with a laminated back.

Is this Brazilian?
Man I'm glad you included the guitar pictures.
For a while there I thought you might be referring to a wax job!

I'd expect Brazilian Rosewood to be a little darker maybe?
My Morris B-50 is much darker, it also has a similar contrasting wedge on the 3-piece back.
