Who are your favourite female Guitarist/Singer Songwriters?
Most of my favourite guitarist/songwriters are male (I'm not sexist) but I do like a few women too.
Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch and Patty Griffin are three of my favourites. What about you? Jack. |

Although I don't care for her looks, outfits or techno/poppy stuff... That lady gaga on a piano in YouTube videos is good stuff.

She might play the bass but in terms of songwriting, arrangements and THAT voice for me it PJ Harvey.

She's not known for her guitar playing, but I love Shelby Lynne.

I second Bonnie Raitt. I also like some of Kristina Olsen's older, more upbeat stuff. Tracy Chapman is great. Rory BLock isn't a songwriter per se, but she is an amazing player/singer (I get tired of listening to her 4 or 5 tunes in though). There are a ton of them in the blues genre. The Uppity Blues Women come to mind. Susan Tedesci. I heard Jewel on Howard Stern the other day. She sounded phenomenal. Dolly Parton anyone?
