Default John Lee Hooker on Playing the Blues, Recording, Spirituality, and More

In December 1996 and January 1997, John Lee Hooker sat down with me to do a pair of interviews for a Living Blues cover story. He was very forthcoming, covering his boyhood in rural Mississippi, how he learned guitar, his recording sessions in Detroit, his songwriting, blues friends, views on spirituality, and how he loves acoustic guitar.
