Lattice Braced Steel String?
I went to Guitar Showcase today in San Jose, CA. and they had a rather blinged out used guitar with no name/label that I tried, and I was quite enamored with it. Spruce top, arched rosewood back. It had a wonderfully lush and full tone. But I noticed it didn't have an X brace visible from the soundhole. So I asked to take a peak inside, they brought out a little camera and to my surprise it had a lattice brace pattern underneath.
Were the guitar not covered in bling on the body and fretboard, and the nut width a smidge wider (felt a little narrower than 1-11/16...) probably would have bought it on the spot. But that got me wondering, whose out there building Lattice Braced steel string guitars? |

Hozen Guitars recently started with this bracing as an option offering.

Our own Mark Hatcher makes his lattice-braced. Mostly, folks ooh and aah over the looks of his guitars, which well deserve it, but I am quite aware that he has a good reason for every step of the way in the build process and the sound and playability of his instruments are every bit as good as they appear. Which of course you cannot tell from photos.
