Default Martin tuning buttons

Seen many a thread here for fellow gibson owners wanting to change the chrome rotomatics buttons but have not seen any threads on where to get replacement buttons for current martin tuners.

Any help would be appreciated as I would like to change up that chrome look on my 000.

Thanks

Hoopla, it’ll depend on which Martin you have. Most of the sealed gear tuners on Martins these days are made by Ping, and it’s difficult to find aftermarket buttons for them. You can sometimes get them from the Larrivee Guitar Company’s online store.

But before you go ordering those buttons, check with Martin and make certain that that’s what’s on the guitar.

Hope this helps.

I think the majority of Martin Guitars now come with open back grovers... not sure you can easily change out the button? Probably need to replace the actual tuners.

Hi all. I have no answers, apart from thinking of Stewmac and maybe LMII.

However, if I may, I'd like to ask why does the OP want to change tunersd and/or buttons.

I've been playing guitar for some decades and I think I've changed tuning machines on guitars twice, both times, once when one was broken, and onece when the six in line tuners on my '64 Martin 12 string were completely worn out.

Is there a quality problem with Martin supplied tuners?

Just curious.

There was a thread a while back where a guy with a J-45 changed the actual button on a rotomatic. Looked good from the front too but you still have the rotomatic. Not a problem and I have them on my D-35 but would still prefer to have open back tuners and may look into changing them?

Really? Oh, OK. Can't say I've ever bothered much about tuners as long as they tune.

thanks,

Silly- I upgrade to get 21:1 ratios instead of 18:1- just more exact.
