Default Pono Contact Info

Hi folks.

Seems the question of whether Pono is still making and delivering guitars comes up every so often. As far as I can tell, they are, but contact must be made directly with John Kitakis or others at Pono HQ. I have seen where folks said the best way to do this is to email John directly. I was hoping someone might be able to send me John's email via PM. Also, does anyone have any info regarding how long the process takes, from ordering to delivery? Thanks all.

Pono is an offshoot of Ko'olau, so really all the emails go to the same place. John replies fast. Usually within a few hours.

He can send you a list of guitars they have in stock. If there's one you like let him know. He can send you pictures if you'd like. If you want it, then they'll send you a paypal request. And the guitar will usually be shipped out of Hawaii within a day or two. They usually do 3 day shipping. But I haven't bought one direct from them in about a year. So I don't know if that's changed.

That being said, I've bought 3 Pono's directly from John, and I've never been disappointed. I even recently bought one of their octave mandolin from Dusty Strings in Seattle,WA. And I love it too.

Thanks for the info. I've sent off my inquiry.

Care to comment on what the prices were like when you last bought from John? I've seen loaded models purchased in the past for about $1000-1200, with less highly appointed models selling around $800. Does this still hold true?

The last I heard they weren't making any more guitars. So a call to them would be the only definitive answer. I can't remember if they were doing guitars on a custom-order basis.

There is a series of posts on the AGF Marketplace tab from Pono listing some of the guitars they have available to sell and also a contact number.
Hope you find what you need.

Everyone seems to have a different idea about Pono! I hope this isn't the case.

I haven't seen a Pono guitar offered in some time. Start by going to Koolau website to get their phone number. You will find no guitars, nor guitars offered. Then call them and ask about guitars. You will have your answer, without speculation, in 5 minutes.

That's about the price range I remember.

Recently in the past few months they've had Single O's and Double O's, and a couple other models. Prices ranging from $700 to $1500 depending on type and appointments.
