P/B Vs Broinze D'addarios - Opinions ?

On a whim whilst purchasing the latest batch of EJ17s on eBay I saw an add for three packs of EJ12s (Bronze).

I put one set in my Weissenborn and another on my DS1. They sound Ok on the Weissy , but a tad "brittle" on the DS1.

I'd welcome any observations.

I just switched from bronze to phosphor bronze d'addarios. I like them both. The bronze strings have more bass and treble and the pb strings have a more complex mid range.
