Anyone Tried Savarez Steel Strings?

French makers well known for their nylon classical guitar strings but I only recently discovered they make steel strings too.

Anyone tried them?

I've ordered a set of lights.

Yes, I have tried them and like them quite a bit. I think their description is actually pretty accurate as far as marketing speak goes. I think they do have good volume, nice sustain, are well balanced. They do well finger picking or strumming.

I have them strung up on a spruce/mahogany Guild. One thing I do find, and love, is that they have a nice rounder, warmer chime to the trebles. Some sets are just to tinny or have to much jangle for my taste. Yet, I would still say these are more bright than warm. I think that's due to bass not being so boomy, more tight and the mids just a bit more prevalent...which I personal like.

It's all subjective anyway...my bright might be your warm. It will be nice to hear your thoughts on them though. I intend to keep using them. Hope they work out for you.

Thanks for posting this. I've used their Argentine gypsy strings but didn't know about these. I shall try a set with interest.

I'm a fan of their classical strings, which are quite popular, so when I saw they made acoustic steel sets, I had to try them. Glad I did, I have used them ever since.

Yes I'm with you on that, their nylon strings are excellent.
Looking forward to trying these, something a little different coming from Europe vs USA.
