14 fret nylon string?

I thought it would be fun to have a nylon string to do some bossa nova and jazz. Looking for an OM sized cutaway with a narrower nut than a real classical.
I'm not looking to spend a bundle. Any recommendations?

Look at the Cordoba Fusion line of guitars. I have the Fusion 14. It's a "cross over."

A third vote to check out the Cordoba crossover. Also worth checking out would be the Yamaha NTX-1

The problem as I see it as a guitar maker is that a 14 fret positions the bridge much closer to the sound hole and further away from the center of the lower bout. So you are really changing the dynamics of the way a classical guitar top works to produce tone.

A better alternative imho would be a cut away body to get easy access to the the higher frets.

What you are looking for is any nylon string “crossover” guitar. There are all sorts of choices: Godin Multiacs, Yamaha NTX series, Ibanez nylon thinlines (Tim Hensen), Cordoba Fusion, Ortega Tour Player, Cort Nylectric, etc..

I’ve been playing this style of guitar for about a year now and absolutely love it. My main home play/practice guitar is a Yamah NTX-5.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was leaning towards the NTX, but from what I can tell the body is quite thin, like 3.5"? I'll be primarily playing acoustic only, so I would prefer something with a 'normal' (4") sized body. The Alvarez AC65HCE looks interesting, of course the Codoba Fusion, and it looks like Lag makes something also. I was hoping to find something used, but there's not that much out there.

I have a Takemine TC135SC. It's been a fun guitar, but I have my eyes on a Buscarino Starlight Nylon. With that, I'd be willing to let go. I can send you pics if you end up looking that direction.

I decided against a 14 fret design when I designed the Super Acoustic classical electric. The 12 fret bridge location is better placement in the lower bout.

I compressed the neck fit into the 13 fret curving the upper bout from the 12 fret near the neck and extending the angle to the 17th fret..

This gives access while preserving the 12 fret bridge location.
