Default Soon to be enthusiast...

I have always wanted to learn to play guitar, and I finally bit the bullet and purchased one. Unfortunately, I spent my lesson $$ on the equipment. Can anyone recommend good theory/chording books to use until the war chest is built back up??

Sorry to link to another forum, but there's some pretty good stuff here. A lot of theory, chords, scales, etc, explained in a very good way. Should get you started. What direction would you like to take your playing in anyhoo?
