Another Noob

Great looking site! I've been reading up for the past couple of days and have already learned a lot. So thanks for that.

I'm looking for some help. I've played off and on for years but am looking to upgrade my acoustic (early 90s Washburn Dreadnought... Think Extreme's More than Words). I've never really bonded with it and I'm hoping to find something in the $600-$800 range. I'm really digging the Takamine NEX body styles but haven't quite found the right sound. I played the GN93CE (NEX) model the other day and loved the feel, action, and size but then picked up the GD93CE (dreadnought) just to listen to the difference and that was the sound I was looking for.

I guess my question is, can I find the dreadnought sound in a NEX style body? I did play a GJ72CE (Jumbo size) but not sure I loved the size but I did like the sound. Did I just answer my own question?
