Default Enya X4 Pro Mini inbound

The daughter has been complaining about the long necks with my other guitars. She likes the nut width of my x10. With good reviews on the X4 mini, a price of $400, and 30-day money back with Amazon....how can I go wrong?

Still loving my Emeralds: At least I only have 2 days to wait versus the month with Emerald.

My husband loves his x3 mini (also purchased off of Amazon), and he has his share of expensive guitars. He calls it a “fun” guitar.

I have an X3 mini. I agree it's a fun guitar. I also put a different pickup in it. (Long story discussed elsewhere on the forum). And yesterday I removed the Enya end-pin preamp system. Its a heavy thing.

Now there's a hole in the bottom of my X3 covered by black duct tape.

So, Joel, what's your verdict on the X4 Pro Mini?

It’s an interesting guitar, the built in electronics give it depth. Fit and finish are very good, she’s nice looking. The case is very nice and comes with shoulder straps for travel. Personally I think it’s overkill and a gig bag would have been adequate. I think the on board tuner is worthless and quickly went to a clip on.

I find the guitar very easy to play. Being a 3/4, it’s a little smaller and fits like a glove. I like the narrower nut width, similar to my X10 and Adamas.

Out of the box the action is very low. The D can buzz a little open if I pick it medium to hard; I have not tried to adjust it yet.

I find myself picking it up and playing it because of the built in amp. It has a plugged in sound without an external amplifier. That brings a smile to my face while playing. Others have commented on the nice sound it produces.

I thought it said it came with Elixir strings, but I’m not so sure. It also came with a decent leather strap and some picks, not that I use them. For me, the built in amp is the highlight and produces a full, intriguing sound.

I paid 408 + tax and find a lot of value at that price. I’ll probably keep it.

Thanks, Joel! It sounds like a fun go-anywhere guitar. Let's put your experience with this Enya X4 Pro Mini into context with what may follow from other posters: I'm going to say that given what you got for $408, it can't be beat but I'm sure some AGFers will try to prove me wrong ... and just may do so. Enjoy!

I would say that like I found with my x4 pro full size one of the Klos convertible gig bags would make the mini into a great plane travelling guitar demounted.

And the bag would work better than the Enya hardshell for local travel

Hey there Marshall, how much did that endpin assembly weigh when you took it out of the X3 Pro mini? I ask because I have the X4 Pro Mini and I am not loving the weight of the guitar. And, I don't mind the piezo pickup, but not fond of the FX stuff. Also, its internal sound system would be much more complicated to remove than the X3, I imagine.

So does this pass-the-test of your daughter's complaints about your long neck guitars?

Congratulations and Glad that you like your X4 Mini!

The weight difference wasn't as much as I thought it would be. The guitar without their Preamp is still heavier than other guitars.

Yeah, I didn't need the FX, nor did I want a speaker inside the guitar. Though I left the speaker in and cut the cables, because it's firmly glued to the back. But that's not a heavy element.
