Thumbs up DY96 AY Abalone Supreme

Thought that guitar looked familiar! It is one of 3 (at last count) that the fellow has picked up in the last few years. Fantastic guitars, Limited Editions due to the extensive detailing and time consumption required to build. Made from 1976 to 1986 with very few changes made, pickguard shape, inlays on fingerboard.

I have a 1981 DY96 with BiPhonic Pickup system~ the only one I've ever seen with it to date.

More info on it, click on link below.

Can you post photo's? I think this might be K. Yairi 60th Anniversary model, spruce top, curly maple back and sides?

Arrow Check my link for photo's for comparison

Well, the pix are kind of small..so, I can't see it very well. Yours has the newer bridge (direct coupled) but, other than that it looks to be the same as the one I saw (60th Anniversary)... maybe yours is the same guitar only newer?

Check my link, I've uploaded photo's of the SY4 60th Anniversary model.. so you can check to see if it really is the same as yours (minus the different bridge)~

Sorry, I'm not very well versed on the uploading process myself (at least not how it works on this site)~ if you want you can e-mail me larger photo's?

[email protected]

If not, maybe someone else can tell you how?

I'm still trying to figure out how the posting works myself.. so far, I can't even get photo's to show up in the post, only able to add links to other photo pages~

If I find out any more on how, I'll post here and ask that you would do the same, so we both can get our pictures up!

Regards,
yl

Have found out from another source that it is a 60th Anniversary model with laminated mahogany back and sides.
Any idea of value for insurance purposes, definitely not for sale.

many thanks
