Default Speaking of Acoustic Resonators?

Hey, do you have any suggestions for entry level to mi-range dobros or resonators?
I have noticed the Nationals are very nice, but the Gibson Houndogs series is also pretty nice -- especially the roundnecks.
Any thoughts?
Fred

Take a serious look at the Beard Gold Tone series. They have wood body and metal body versions, and use high quality cones. They are made overseas but setup in the states. Make sure you get one that was set up by Beard.

Interesting. You mean there will be a Beard designation on the isntrument that says Beard?
I am already a big Gold Tone fan. Their open backed banjos are the best--the Whyte Lady.
Thanks!

I sampled a "houndog" a few months back and was very impressed. I do believe it will be on my list of future purchases.

Yes, they really surprise me. I don't know much about the cones, but I understand you can do some "hot rodding" to adjust the sound. But, this Hound Dog I tried was great!

If you go to Elderly music you will see "Berd Gold Tone" resonators.
They are designed by Paul Beard and built overseas gto his specs.
Some are then shipped back to Beard to be set up...other apparently go directly to outlets like Music 123.
ELderly carries the ones set up by Beard.
Great bargain.

Just picked up a Beard Goldtone from Madison Music. So far I'm really enjoying this little round neck reso. For the price it's pretty nice.
