Three things that work for me:

1. Drill a hole(s) in the center area of the pick. About 3 to 5 1/8" diameter holes or a single 1/4" hole.

2. Already mentioned above, glue fine sandpaper (220 grit) to one or both sides of the pick, in the center. I cut out a round piece, about 3/16" or so diameter. I use a very thin application of shoe-goo to stick it to the pick. I got this idea from Martin Luxe picks, which come with a small sticky-backed round piece of sandpaper to apply if you want. Did this on a couple Wegen picks and they're almost too grippy (if that's possible).

3. Just lick my right thumb and rub it lightly against the right index finger where the pick rests.

All these methods still allow the use of all of the available pick tips (unlike those rubber sheaths). All are pretty cheap too. The first 2 methods stay with the pick and can't be lost or forgotten.

You might want to give these a try. It's a flat pick turned into a thumb pick, held on with a spring.

I didn't care for it as a thumb pick, but the friend I gave it to seems pretty happy with one. You could try it as just a flat pick with a little help in the holding on department. Not too expensive.

This statement makes no sense, since the pick itself is what gets lost!

But I get your point.

I've tried most of the thumb picks, with limited success. Remember, my problem is arthritis in my thumbs, so they don't work as well as they used to.

This includes the best of the best, a Red Bear thumb pick. If anybody wants to try it, PM me and I'll make you a heckuva deal!

Thanks for all the suggestions, but I'm good- Picker's Grip it is.

Dude, there is no point! I will get a round to explaining that later, when it's time to close that circle.
...sorry, I clearly need to get a grip!
