Default Imagine no brand names....

What if we listed only body shape and woods, and didn’t mention the manufacturer or luthier

It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to gloat or vie for
And no pretension too

Imagine all the guitarists
Strumming in harmony
You hooooo oooo

Dreadnaught
Rosewood back and sides
Sitka top

This is great. I was just enjoying some solo John Lennon and this is a perfect fit. Would definitely change things if we just played.

Jumbo maple 12 string (soon)
Dreadnaught Mahogany 6 string
Semi-hollow humbucker 6 string.
Grand Auditorium, rosewood, 6 string

It's not the guitar, it's the player, so I feel really bad for my guitars...

I really recommend my blue, medium-sized car. Lots of power, great handling and good gas mileage.

Not to be a Debbie downer, but in his later years, John totally eschewed the content of "Imagine" as naive romanticism. What if there were no brand names? Would there be pride of workmanship and excellence?

I doubt it.

I buy guitars for their tone not their name.
Yes, there are brand snobs but they have their reasons for it.

I love blind tests.
Most of the time I can't guess what guitar is being played.
Some times it's a lot easier though as there are a lot of different sounding guitars out there.

LOL! My blue medium-sized car has the great handling and good gas mileage but not as much power as my friend’s white medium-sized car. Should I keep it and paint it white or try and get my money back? :-)
Best,
Jayne

And it begs the next song in the 70s play list. It’s one you all know and it only has two chords:

“Oh I played in the desert on a guitar with no name…”

Imagine there's no brand names
It isn't hard to do
No headstock logos
So much easier to choose

Impressive tone and/or loose binding would give away which ones were hand made by artisans in Pennsylvania.

Imagine going into a store and asking for ‘a box of breakfast-cereal’, ‘a pack of cigarettes’, or ‘a bottle of whisk(e)y’ - it would be ridiculous, personal taste, and hence brand preference, are a major factor in decisions over which products we buy. The same applies to guitars.

Ain’t never gonna happen…

The usual disclaimers apply......IMHO, YMMV etc.
