Same as any other wood guitar, I use humipaks by Boveda all year round. They're the same company that supplies the pouches for D'Addario.

Oasis for me. Use one all year around because in Western Canada dry all year around. Use the gray, high volume unit in winter and blue/low volume unit in summer. Like it because it is in the sound hole.

no need to differentiate the wood. i use the planet waves with the sponge inside. works great. i've also made my own from cut up sponge and small plastic containers--cost about $2 total.

play music!

Wood is wood. And the Boveda is a good system if you keep it in the case. It's not a cheap system, but reputed to be good. As I have several acoustics, that type of system seems cost prohibitive so I use a more traditional method of protecting my instruments.

Regardless of how you store your instrument you should try to keep the room humidity at around 40-45%. I also use Planet Waves soundhole humidifiers which only cost about $7 per unit. For the guitars that hang in the room I re-wet the sponges every day or two once they are no longer moist.

You're right, they can be pricey but I also have several Damp-it snakes and a few Planet Waves sound hole sponges as well. I've been at this for a while.
