Default Vote on Taylor Forum CD Cover

Today, as I was showing some printouts of the forum CD cover to family members, I kept getting them same question / comment. "What's wrong with it?" or "It looks overexposed". etc. Before I have the remainder of these printed, I'd like you to help me decided which to use.

Here's the one that I had originally decided on:

A sunburst 614CE against a beautiful Texas sunset image - with the sun blasting out from the edge of the guitar.

And here's the plain jane version...

Which one would you prefer? Vote quick! I'm having the rest printed on Wednesday.

J.R.

By "sunburst," I assume you're talking about the actual sun. It's cool, but it makes me want to look away. The non-sunburst one is easier on the eye and richer in color besides.

BTW, is that bearclaw on the guitar's top?

Second one.
The first looks like a big white blob that shouldn't be there. Maybe a big printing error.
Go for elegant simplicity.

Well, I like the first one. I think it looks cool! But it doesn't matter.

I don't want to confuse you, most folks would probably like the second one without all the light.

If those are the only choices then the second one is less distracting, but what happened to all of the early ideas? They seemed to be so much more creative. I have no entry in the contest or song on the CD so I haven't got a horse in the race, but with all of the creativity I've seen on this forum, is a plain ordinary photo of a guitar the most creative and striking a design that anyone could come up with?

I had two official artwork submissions. Where's yours, Jim? Thomas Pullen designed the basis of this artwork and I finished it. (Not sure if Tom wants his name attached to this... )

I think the second one is easier on the eyes...

One question -- How much did Ryan pay to get his name plastered all over the cover?!?

Ryan's the luck winner! hehe! I hadn't realized that till you pointed it out, Gutch. I think Ryan deserves an official Taylor King designation for that.

I had NO CLUE what you guys were talking about till just now...

I am indeed the night jurisdiction around these parts...either that or I am just bored and always up way too late (though thats changing this summer as I have to wake up early with the rest of you who work)

When the sun goes down, I own this town. hehehehe

Speaking of sun going down, actually, I also prefer the one without the sun...its a bit distracting and I think it takes away from that beautiful background, which is nice enough to carry the right side of the cover on its own opposite the guitar on the left.

J.R.-

I know it's somewhat late to point this out now, but what happened to my submissions? I sent you two of them when you asked for artwork designs but never heard back or saw them posted. What happened?
