Default DR Black Magic strings

I just played on them for about 2 hours after putting them on. They felt different, almost sort of kind of "tacky-stickyish", but as I played I forgot about it. The black coating is on every string though and looks pretty cool.

I believe those are the strings that Rainsong used on their blacked out "Smokey" models.

Looked really cool. Wasn't fond of the sound though, kind of muffled.

Not that great. Borderline "Ok." A little cheap sounding if that makes sense. Maybe they will sound better as they age. I had put them on my Larrivee. My D-120 with Ernie Ball Paradigms sounds better than the Larrivee now, which usually isn't the case.

I think with DR it's best to stick with the "tried and true" (a.k.a. Sunbeams and Rare) strings. I tried the Zebra a while back, and they were utterly awful. Their "gimmicky" strings just don't cut the mustard.
