How much did you save getting it from MF? Was it worth the trouble you're having? Perhaps I do not understand.
I believe he was trying to obtain a 1st Edition.... that means MF or GC...

It's not an "I hate bearclaw" or "I love bearclaw" thing with me . .. it all depends on the particular top.

There may be a joke, but it's not mine.

What I say stands and is true - note I said First Edition.

I so agree with the knowledgeable posters on this thread.
I so disagree with the unknowledgeable posters on this thread.

Top woods with "bearclaw" may not be pleasing to the eye for some, but it in no way is a "defective or cheaper option top". Some actually prefer the look as has already been stated by many!

That said, OP definitely return the guitar for a return if it is not to your liking because after all, it is your money and you should be totally satisfied with your purchase in every way.

If you love the sound and are only worried about resale because of a defect, you should keep it. It's not defective.

If you don't like the looks, you should return it. But if you do return it, I would wait until you can play one in person. Looks aren't everything. I played one of these and was disappointed in the sound. Because so many other people are raving about it, I would assume some examples sound better than others.
