Old Country tradition - Royals expect to receive every work as a gift - It is likely the contractors were all expected to kick back substantial fees for getting the work - another Old Country tradition. ;-)

Maybe you should of offered the kick back.

Larry,

It used to be acceptable in the Old Country to openly bribe any government employee to allow you to go to the head of the line waiting for the employee to wait on them. Probably was due to the low wages many government employees used to get there.

I might just do that.

I can't remember if I heard it on the news, in which case, a follow up in that regard probably isn't going to happen, but I think it might have been on Denmark Radio talk station, 24/Syv, which goes in depth on any and all cultural subjects.

They may be interested in doing a follow-up on the story, especially when the Royal Cheapskate are involved...

Please let me know if you are going to do this...I have *all* the original emails (in full) saved.

Might be a fun adventure...

Sure, I'll let you know.
I'll see if I can get the time tomorrow before work to find the right contact information, and to formulate an email.

It sure would be fun if they decide to look into your story.

I'll be off to bed soon, it's almost two in the morning here as I'm writing this, but I'll let you know if/when I get the time to do this tomorrow.

Im surprised they didn't tell you what a great marketing opportunity it was for you to get all that exposure Larry!
How dare you insult them by turning them down!

I've sent an email to Danish Radio news, telling about your story and the parallel to the story involving McDonald and the band Ex Cops, providing links and told them that you're willing to answer any questions they have if they intend to follow up on the story.

In that case I'll PM you for your email address so they can contact you.

Disclaimer: I wrote earlier that Ex Cops was a Danish band.

That's not entirely correct. It's an American band, but the front singer Amalie Bruun is Danish, which was why she was interviewed about their story on Danish Radio.
