Default Tony Rice Signature strings on a D1AVarnish...NOT

The Tony Rice Signature strings have sounded pretty good on a few guitars I've tested them on, 1974 D35, 2012 Sinker D18, 1978 D18 so I thought I would try them on my Collings D1AVarnish..........BTDT, never again!! We had a rehearsal last night and I had changed the strings. I was glad I had the Sinker D18 with me! Terrible tone on the Collings. Restrung today with Elixirs and back to normal. Band members tonight wanted to know what I did to make it so bad last night and so good tonight. Lesson learned.
