JP Cormier is a great player too but he comes off as a blow hard. He pimps Far East guitars so hard and bad mouths all big US brands. Kinda tired of his act.
Yeah Cooper is a great player, and seemingly a pretty cool guy, but a terrible reviewer. He's not in the business of demonstrating what a guitar sounds like, but rather blazing through his chops demonstrating him.

JP Cormier doesn't just come off as a blowhard, he is a blowhard. He acts like a shill for whatever dog will hunt with him, and his hyperbole is tiresome. He's one of the last people I would take advice from. The dude can play though.

I can’t believe no one has said Aaron Short yet. Our own Aero does a terrific job on reviewing whatever. (Mostly electronic gear). Sometimes he over emphasizes his personal preferences a tiny bit. But he ALWAYS gives an intelligent detailed discussion with excellent audio samples for the listener to decide for themselves.

If you're interested on doing your own research for gear you should watch as many reviews as you can find.

I find Alamo Music's reviews particularly honest and done in an entertaining and low key fashion.

Gearmanndude, a pedal maker and tester, is by far my favorite YouTube gear reviewer. He doesn't say or play more than he has to. Concise. Thorough. Keeps it interesting and entertaining and usually does a good job of showing what a pedal can do.

My thought as well. He's overly impressed by himself.

some folks make buying decisions based on reviews, some don't...not in the market for anything right now but to me reviews of anything are a crap shoot and then there are opinions smh

I know John and he is one of the coolest guys you could ever meet. Hilarious too. I got to know him long before he was on Premier, when he was band leader on Nashville Star. Good player, good guy.

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned Dream Guitars, which now has Dustin Furlow demoing guitars. Allen Shadd is wonderful, and Al Petteway always brought out the best in the guitars he played. Agree that Carl Miner is on another level—you can also tell how much he likes a guitar from his body language and the tune he comes up with.

I watch channels like Music Villa and Alamo occasionally for entertainment, but I’m surprised by how often their descriptions etc. are inaccurate. I also love Spoon Phillips, although I think his blogs are even more informative than his video reviews.

Watching Cooper play is a blast. No offense to Chris, but I'd rather hear Cooper. Not just for his talent, but the guitars seem to sound better to me with his setup vs Chris's.

So, this would be like the reviewers who give a positive review to every instrument? Has anyone ever heard a guitar that did not sound great when played by Carl Miner?

Most of the time I just want to hear the guitar or player. My favorite channel for that is WMsoundpresentse
