Default D'Addario XS Poll

With all the D’Addario promos and forum users trying the relatively new D'Addario XS strings, I thought a poll would be prudent. Select all that apply. Eagerly waiting for the results. Sorry if I left off a glaringly notable response from the poll.

I didn't vote in the survey because I just put the XS strings on a few days ago. The first day I thought they lacked something in the mids. The second day, I thought they were fantastic. I like sliding on them and I don't think they are too slippery at all.

I usually use regular, uncoated D'Addario phos/bronze and so far I'm liking these. I'll place my votes in a few days.

I voted other because I don't use D'Addario. I have tried them but that's it.

I'm having to hold off a few days on judgement. I've played my Bourgeois twice since I put a set of XS mediums on it and I LOVE the feel of them, but I'm NOT digging the sound so far. I've been told they take a few days to settle in, so I'll vote here in a few days!!

Placed an order about a week ago - really, really hoping they won't be too slippery for me (like Elixirs) so I'm interested to see how this poll pans out.

I've tried a few of the coated/treated strings.

XS, XT, EXP Cleartone, Gibson, Elixr

I like these XS strings the best so far.

I did not like the EXPs. They don't feel right.

The XTs are a little to shrill/bright sounding for my ears.

I like Elixir Nano Webs, but I don't like the shredding.

I like Cleartones, but they seem to have a bit more resistance than the others, almost feel like a slightly heavier gauge. They last a long time too, and no shredding.

Gibson coated are pretty good, but the seem to go from sounding good, to being totally dead almost over night. However that was after about 4.5 months

Thanks for this. Very informative. The DR Dragon Skin is another coated string I tried. A little "resistance" to them. Almost tacky feeling. (As in sticky). And SIT makes a coated string. It's been so long since I tried them, I can't recall what they were like.

Interesting poll, I've never tried them so I'm interested to see what most people think. I'm a fan of the EXP.

Wow, I've only had the XS strings on for 4 days, but my guitar has never sounded better. It really came alive today. I've only had this GP-28e for 8 months and I've only used the Martin treated strings that came with it and D'Addario EJ16's, but holy mackerel, this is a really nice guitar but these strings just took it to another level.

I hope these last at least 3 months. At $18 a set, they're too expensive but if they last I'll have to dig deep and get them again.

I'm a big fan, and this is from a long time Elixir user.

Other as I'm priced out of strings that cost so much.

I just put a set on my Yamaha FS5. They are pretty bright but I need to play it more and break them in before I decide. I had NB on before these and I liked them a lot.

They're fantastic on my Martin dread.
They're terrible on my Gibson J200.
