xaviere acoustics?
I've looked at these on and off for a while but there isn't much info out there on them so I was curious what people's experiences are with them.

There are some video reviews on youtube. Some of them pretty positive.

I have one...

I bought this one from a fellow AGF'er. Maybe it's not representative of the product line but mine sounds great. More sustain and tone than you would expect at this price. I think the cedar top helps warm it up... |

Thanks for posting your question and starting this thread. I've been thinking about getting a guitar to have at my office (I'm self-employed and the boss already said it was ok ) and have looked at these.
I've heard enough positive reports about they sound and the overall quality that for the low price I'm willing to pull the trigger. That said, I do wonder how they are able to price them so cheaply and whether or not they are built in an economically, socially and environmentally responsible manner. I read on another forum that they are built in China but I have no more information than that. Does anybody know more about this? |

I have had the XV_590SS for about a year and a half now. That is the solid spruce top, solid mahogany b/s. It has excellent fit and finish. Great detail, maybe more bling than some would like.
I pulled the pickguard and added a clear one. Also installed a Lyric in it. I took it in for a set up shortly after getting it and it didn't require much adjustment at all. It does react much more to humidity changes than my other guitars but it is also the only one I have with mahogany b/s. I have one of their semi-hollow electrics also, I think there is a pic on here somewhere of that one. I don't have any good pics of the acoustic. Other than the fact that you can't play them before you buy I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Jack |

One of my friends bought one of their Les Paul style electrics and I was shocked at how nice it was for 300 bucks. I thought it was every bit as nice as some of the Les Paul Standards I've played.

I know the electrics get quite a bit of love but never see much for the acoustics hence my curiosity. Let me be forward and say I'm not looking to buy one atm because they only stock dreads and cutaway jumbos and have the 1 11/16 nut spacing which I want none of those right now but have been thinking once I get some other spots in the stable taken care of might not be a bad idea for a cheap dread in the stable since I am a country boy at heart and nothing beats a dread for strumming some old country tunes.

I have heard a lot of praise on their electrics (and the lead guitarist in my beatles tribute band had a semii-hollow that sounded very good), but little on the acoustics.

the truth shall set you free
I purchased the all solid indian rosewood spruce top sunburst,I live in mass. but am in no way associated with guitar fetish. first off i will say it is a surprisingly good playing sounding and looking guitar.I unlike many members here love abalone.now the not so great - there were three fog spots on back and sides i believe these are from spraying in very high humidity or not having water filters on your compressor, but they were only on back and side so what the heck.visble glue on kerfuling(i hope thats right, the slotted bent pieces holding top& bottom onto sides)but no visible glue on braces or side braces. action was slightly high, typical for out of box guitar.removed saddle to file it down but found the saddle slot was not cut flat.used dremel router with guide to level .Shaved a hair off bone saddle and action was fantastic with no buzzing and though i thought it sounded great before it significantly improved after saddle fix. I own three larrivees, a top of the line dean acoustic, owned a gibson heritage acoustic with solid Brazilian rosewood sides.yamaha classical and played too many top quality guitars to list.owned it two years with no problems never used humidifier as i live on cape cod.a steal for under $400 delivered. only problem is i bought as take to beach, campfire ,"beater"and it is to good for that so dam it i have to buy another for that purpose probably xaviere laminated plain guitar. as i only have the one i cant speak to the consistency of their guitars. but i will buy another one or two(the mahogany solid makes me tingly)I read post were someone asks "has anyone had any experience with …"and people with no experience post negative responses so i decided to reply with firsthand experience

I have no direct experience with Xaviere guitars, they might be great. I have However I have owned some terrific lower priced Seagull and Yamaha instruments and I gladly recommend these brands. You might want to look at the Yamaha FG720 / FG730 if you want a dread or their FS720 / FS730 if you want a folk / orchestra sized guitar. I just picked up a used FS720 for a song and I am really impressed with how good it plays or sounds. It isn't was nice as my Martin 000-18, but it was less that 10% of the price.
Besides that, I would recommend saving a bit more and trying to find a used Seagull in your price range. These pop up on Craigslist frequently and can still be had for less than $200. |

Don't worry about it! It happens here every time someone suggests anything but a Yamaha for a low price guitar!

Your statement on awaiting all passive aggressive posts will most surely draw comments. I doubt they will contain much in the way of "passive."
