I heard from a guy at the factory that there's an inlays on this guitar of a guy in a golf cart. The 3rd fret his driving fine, the 5th fret he's heading into a ditch, the 7th fret he's rolled it over, the 10th fret he's climbing out, the 12th fret......well, you may want to capo the 12th fret.

Hey JW, give that guitar a strum for me!

Peace.

It was hard to miss it, Jay, but I've been enjoying the UPS jokes too much to mention it!

JW, maybe it would be a good idea to re-tell your story for all of us that have come along since. Lots of new members, and I've only begun to start piecing things together. Think you can handle that? I know it's kind of a long story, but with the new guitar coming, this might be a good time.

......been watching the UPS page.....

Still hasn't made it to Greensboro yet.....so it must undoubtedly be traveling on 18 wheels.

Wonder where it will spend the weekend?

Hey...JW....at least traveling via road from LeGrande Vista CA to Greensboro NC, it'll already be 'opened up' some for you when it gets there.

Later....

The Guitar just went past my place in Minnesota...

The truck stopped by to deliver me a package & I spotted the guitar in the back of the brown truck... Sorry, but I just hadda play it.

P.S. Don't mind the grape jelly stains, they kinda match with the rest of the guitar!

From my experiance you may not see it show up on scan in greesboro until tuesday night. It will sit all alone in a big truck but when it leaves greensboro it moves fast. JW

JW:

After it *leaves* Greensboro, are there any other major hubs between there and Conway?

Or, in other words, once I see that it's left Greensboro, how soon should I be ready to roll?

If your local UPS guy usually runs in the morning.....(I think you said between 10:00 and 10:45 AM)......I may leave late the night before and take my time getting there and just camp out in a parking lot till daylight and then give you a call. I enjoy driving at night without a lot of traffic and would rather do that than have to get up and leave at 4:00 AM and race down there.

(The Delorme mapping program calculates the trip at almost four hours but I don't think it takes into account the usual fuel, coffee and pee breaks. )

Thanks....
Rick

You better NOT!! you get into town you call me at any hour and we will find a place for you. Trust me you dont want to camp around here. We have a place for you to sleep!!

DAY THREE:

The little UPS donkey and her grizzled old driver have just crossed into the Great State of TEXAS!! yeee--HAWW!!!

Our high altitude satellite cam has picked them up at the gates of a big spread...the sign says "Rancho J.R."...dusty old place...couple a buzzards circling around an old longhorn skull...tumbleweeds rolling around...

the ranch boss comes out with a canteen of water for the donkey and a sasparilla for the driver...asks if he might take that geetar box off'n the poor little critter, git a looky inside...

BACK OFF, the driver says, pulling a pearl handled derringer outa his brown UPS shorts. This here box is goin to CONWAY SC and no one's gittin a look at it. Thanks for the sasparilla though, pard.

Whew gittin hot already...2000 miles to go.
