Default Cort Guitars-- Are they any good?

I was wondering if anyone here has any personal experience with the Cort brand... I'm in the market for a new guitar, and the guitar shop closest to me only sales Cort guitars. Obviously, nothing beats going in there and trying them out for myself, which I intend to do this weekend. And I know there's all sorts of info on the interwebs, but I had such wonderful feedback on my last thread here, I thought maybe I'd bring the question up.

I'm a beginner. I've been playing on a Rogue Dreadnought I bought for like $50, but I want to upgrade. I also want to get a smaller guitar as I have the world's smallest fingers.

This guitar shop is the only place within driving distance and I really want to try my 'next' guitar out before buying it. If Cort is a good brand, then so be it.

(The shop does sell Breedlove too, but I don't want to spend that much money just yet.)

The Cort brand tends to get good reviews here, Angera. They are good for not-too-much money.

A tip – the best way to search for info on the site is to use the almost-invisible search button close to the bottom of every page. Look for threads about Cort and you'll see quite a few recent ones.

i bought a used cort semi hollow bodied electric and it was very good value. quite well made, reasonable fit and finish.

i've never played a rogue, (other than in real life) but i think upgrading to a cort (or another similar guitar) is a good idea. you may still need to get a setup on it. maybe you can get the shop to include that.

I have a Cort NTL-50FX and I'm very pleased with it. It's the "downsized jumbo" model that apparently is not in production anymore, but you can still find them in a few places. It was around $650 new, and it was a big step up from the Epiphone AJ200 I had before.

They are VERY good. Cort Earth series in my book are the best guitars in the $200-300 range.

I've seen exceptional examples and I've seen horrible examples. These days, I've been hearing more good than bad, but...just proves that ya gotta play before ya buy!

Hi there Angera, I just bought a Cort LUCE SERIES 900. It is a smaller bodied guitar ,0 to 00 size,14" lower bout.IT is a 12fret neck to body joint and very comfortable to play. The neck is a comfortable C profile .
I'm very pleased with this guitar's fit and finish . Very nice detailing in construction inside and out . The top is solid cedar with A solid rosewood back.

It did require a little set up ,nut and saddle fine tuning, but for the $500. this cost, it is a very sweet sounding and playing guitar . A good value for the $$.

Depending on the model, it may not sound good, but it will look good.

I'm on the fence. I haven't played many, and going into playing them, I knew this was the same company that made a good number of Ibanez's acoustics. And I hate how Ibanez acoustics sound, but love the look. The ones I've played tended to lack a low-end. VERY bright.

Nice, I like it. That's the type of stuff I like-- acoustic rock.
