Polishing Taylor Acoustic Top
Question my acoustic guitar aficionados. I have a Taylor 414 with a gloss top. Can I use Gibson Pump Polish on it? I know I can use it on my electric guitars but am not sure about the top of my acoustic (I know I can't use it on the rest of the body).
Thanks in advance!

Most guitar (no abrasive) polishes and cleaners work fine on most guitar finishes, acoustic or electric.

clean it with the gibson stuff and wax with zymol (teal car wax). Do NOT get on the satin parts or open wood. I very lightly wax my non-nitro guitars once a year or so and they look fantastic, make smudge marks for manageable and beads sweat.

From the Taylor website -
FAQ: How should I clean or polish my guitar? Q: How should I clean or polish my guitar? A: Most store-bought guitar and automotive polishes will work fine on the glossy areas of our UV-finished guitars built after 1995. Our factory technicians recommend and use Turtle Wax Express Shine® to clean and detail the entire body and the back of the neck on all Taylor models. Express Shine works well on both glossy and satin finishes... |

You should NEVER EVER use Gibson polish on a TAYLOR guitar... you can be jailed for that. its like buying car polish at Toyota and using it on your Ford... LOL
