There's a new Fretboard Journal podcast featuring an interview with Derek Gripper that some might find interesting. Derek loves classical guitar but found the repertoire limiting and found his way to playing Kora influenced music on his Hauser.

Very similar idea, done with steel string vs classical. Super nice, and thanks for pointing them out!

Yeah this is great stuff. Classical music is fascinating to study but sometimes it's better to do this sort of stuff that lets your creativity flow a bit more.

Nylon string guitar playing is about how you play.

Classical guitar is about repertoire.

But until the nylon string guitar is brought to a place where technique is incorporated with better amplification it will not be a more significant instrument that reflects the talents of those who exploit the instrument.

I think it is fantastic to see new creativity.

Why do classical players play Barrios on nylon strings?

Rather than fight the degradation of gut strings in the humidity of south America he used steel strings.

How incorrect!!
