Default Which is the better Martin D-16 deal?

92 D-16H Special Edition - looks to be in great shape, for sale by original owner, $1250

Or

D-16 GT - don't know the year or exact condition, really, but the pics look pretty nice, $650

Just wondering if I should go check out one or both of these. Any opinions are welcome.

Don't want to say which is "better." But "both" is best!

Seriously though, I would have to play and listen. 16 Series are winners to me, but there's quite a varied sound palette, imo.

D-16H Special Edition is more of a standard series model than a 16 series. It is a traditional dovetail neck joint, prior to the 16 series introducing the mortise/tenon neck joint around 1995.

That is the superior guitar on paper.

Of course playing them could change that opinion, however, I have played more than a few of each and my experience is the Special Edition is odds on to be a better guitar.
