Once you've played an Authentic, it's hard to settle for anything less.



Definitely worth saving for.

Any validity to the notion that the "authentic construction" lends itself for the need for more repairs or shorter life than other model construction techniques ?

Good question. I'm wondering if the string gauges we use today, specifically light gauge were any different then the ones used during the 30's. I've heard it said that heavier gauges were used in the past which could account for the heavier construction of later guitars to offset the warranty claims.

So maybe a reverse effect ? We're using lighter strings with the authentic construction, therefore fewer problems than when heavier strings were used ?

I'm just going to chime in and echo the that the one I played was fantastic also and the neck, set up ect.. just felt great. Beautiful sound.
Out of my talent/price range but fantastic...
