Thanks for the replies and opinions. It's gonna be very hard to resist buying one. I know I don't need it since I bought the Taylor 210 last December. I just hope I can survive HD28 withdrawal.

Emailed my friend. He said its a D28 Dan Tyminski model. I can't find it, even on martins web site. What did he give for it?

I suspect he gave a lot for it. The list price I found for the one example I could find a price on was $5149, they sold it for $4149.
I'd ask him if you want to know the exact amount. An HD28 is one of the best sounding guitars I've ever played. My D35 is the best I've owned, and one of the best sounding I've played, as well. The HD28 stopped calling to me the first strum I made on the D35. Good luck on your search.

IMHO, the D 28 has one of the most variable tone pallets from era to era and guitar to guitar than anything else I've played. Maybe it's because I've played on a bunch as there are a lot of them out there. I would play on every one I could find if I were in the market. Seductive as all hell for sure, but I continue to be firmly in the D 18 camp.

It is one of the very few modern Martins made with rear shifted bracing. Last edited by kydave; 09-28-2014 at 08:34 PM. |
