Default looking for a new "beater" guitar

Obviously I'm not going to beat my guitar. Haha
But I'm looking for a cheap ($150-200) guitar.
Just something that I can take outside on cooler nights and sit around the fire with.
I don't care if its a laminated or solid top. As long as it stays in tune, plays well and sounds nice. I also don't really care what body style it is.
Any suggestions?

After hearing JT Earle and Sara Barailles play stock Loar guitars on nationally broadcast performances, a used Loar is definitely on my shortlist for a knock around guitar.

I'd look for a used Seagull S6 or an Art & Lutherie Cedar

Default Xaviere by Guitar Fetish

These folks are known for their value-priced pickups. I grabbed a Xaviere cedar-topped dread from an AGF member and was pleasantly surprised by the sound and playability.

You can find a clean Baby Taylor for around that, been "beating" mine for years.

Ibanez artwood AC300 grand concert ---- $189.00

Wait, scratch that. Once you get the guitar you will say, "This is way to nice to be a beater."

I played a Fender Squier at Costco once that was pretty good.

The Yamaha fs700s is a really nice guitar.
What's your opinions on fender vs Yamaha in the same price range?

Recording King Dirty 30's series (Single O, OO and Dreadnought) and quite a few Epiphone options as well.

Dirty 30's give the most volume which would serve you better if you're outside.

I did this exact thing haha, thought it was going to be easy to set it wherever and not care. Once I got it I was super impressed and ended up babying it.

I think these will be good beaters.

Gonna try them out once a local guitar store gets them in.

I was looking at the Recording King Dirty 30s single O. But I heard it sounds thin in some reviews I read. I've never played one so I can't say for sure.
And I was looking at Epiphone too. My main acoustic is an EJ200. Although its not super expensive, I still don't want to take chances in colder weather
