I rarely play it anymore but I always did enjoy it when I played it. Only gigged it once though, on my Epi doubleneck 6/12 string.

The world would be a better place if that song was never written imo. Of course there would be some equally annoying song to take it's place if it hadn't.

Don't mind hearing it played, but never heard anyone who can sing it.

But I don't really mind the song. There was a time when I thought it was great, but after hearing it a million times I think I'm neutral about it now. Lol... |

I was in Sam Ash last week and there was a kid playing the guitars and one of songs he played part of was of course Stairway. He was good player and had played some other interesting things, so I didnt mind.

I stumbled weakly through it for a small group of folks shortly after it came out. That was the first time anyone applauded my playing. So after all the years I've kept it close. Yes I still like it, despite concerns over the lyrics but that's another issue.

I've played it once in public, in the early 80s IIRC, at a high school's JR/SR dance. The class theme was STH.

Boo, Texas!
I am a better person for that song, and for being able to play it. |

I was in a store a while back that actually had a sign asking people not to play either Stairway to Heaven or Wildwood Flower. :-)

And the iconic acoustic opening was probably lifted from a group they toured with. Not the whole song but it is amazing that Page can't give them a little credit.

I don't happen to play it. But I do start my warm-ups every day with "Blackbird". Does that count?

I've got my first vocal lesson next weekend and one of the songs my new instructor gave me to learn in advance is Stairway.
