Default Tacoma dm18

Can anyone give some feedback or info on a tacoma dm18 guitar. I have heard good things about them. Is it a 1 3/4 nut? What is a good price for one.

Yes. ALL non-cutaway Tacomas have 1.75 nut width. Cutaways have 1 & 11/16.

I had a DR12 that was the best sounding dread I have ever picked up. Just too big for me. Pre-Fender year Tacomas are superior instruments and many of them have finish issues (clear coat bubbling). Still one of the best guitar bargains in the used market, IMHO.

$300 is an excellent price for that guitar.

If you can get it for $300 ask the seller if they have another one! That's a great price. Tacoma guitars used some fairly spectacular woods. The spruce and mahogany on my PM-20 look like something you see on a $1500 guitar today. So sad they aren't around anymore.

I noticed that a Tacoma DM18-12 string was for sale near me on Craiglist.
I had thought about looking at it but don't know much about Tacomas... and
I don't think I should spend the money on it right now.

I would say that if you can buy a DM18 for $300... that would be an excellent
deal!

$300 is a steal if it's in good shape.

I understand the "blue book values" but with a good Tacoma you can through the book away. Their sound far exceeds their stated values, IMO.

I HAVE played a dog or two, but they are rare and few and far between. The cases are usually exceptionally nice as well. Gold-ish fur lining.

Thanks for all the replys. I went ahead and got it for $300. The finish is showing some issues on the sides (kind of like its lifting) but overall it looks in real good shape otherwise and sounds good. Figured it would be a good travel/campfire guitar and the finish doesnt really bother me. Has a really nice hardcase
