As I believe in play before you pay....I would just like to be able to a/b a Martin D-28 Marquis vs. a D-21 Special.
Both are EIR Dreds but they have different types of Spruce tops, different bridge shapes, different scallop patterns for their forward shifted braces, different materials used for their pins, nuts, and saddles. All of this should make for quite a tone difference. Not to mention the neck profile differences.
Also, I have always wanted to try a Gibson J-45 Rosewood, but there are no longer any Gibson acoustic dealers in my area.
Not rare guitars, just lack of marketing.
Dale.

I'd love to see what all the McPherson fuss is about. They are rather ugly in my view BUT they supposedly play like a dream. Too expensive to just buy before trying.

(This thread gives me G.A.S.)
If you are ever in the Detroit Mi area you can for sure test drive the one on the end(on the right)
It is a 5 string acoustic bass with a high C Mike Doolin made for me a few years back. It is a incredible instrument!

Default Stop, You're hurting me...

When you look through the sound hole of most guitars, they sure don't look like the back side of the guitar (regarding the color of the wood grain and pattern). This guitar looks so good it hurts.

Do you have the ability to post a clip of what that guitar sounds like?

I love the sound (of the Doolin Bass). It was a nice piece of music as well. I makes me want to hear what some hard fast jazz would sound like on it. I am also itching to hear how it sounds on something like "Uncle Johns Band" you know. Just a strictly acoustic version with other guitars and hitting a few high-notes during the song.

...and some Brubaker, that's not too much to ask now is it?

If you're ever in my city, give me a shout. My shop carries them all!

My answer would be any harp guitar. ANY. They intrigue me.

A Froggy Bottom and Kevin Ryan... I'd love to add a couple of each of those to my current custom Bourgeois OM.

I'd love to try a Somogyi.

here's an older post similar to this. people add their location if they have these guitars you want to try. basically people allowing you to test drive their gutiars!
