Default Free Christmas Guitar

I was going to offer this to Ted for his daughter but he has found something else. In the spirit of the season and because I have been blessed in life I'd like to give it to someone who knows someone you really needs it. I'm lucky that I don't know of anyone personally who can't afford a guitar. I know there are organizations that I could donate it to but I would rather have a small personal connection. I've enjoyed being part of the AGF. I trust that whoever submits their name knows someone who needs it. I'll put all the names received by Saturday morning into a hat and pick one at random. This way it will get there before Christmas. By the way the guitar is an Ibanez PF5CEMS acoustic electric in very good condition. Just set-up. Pete (PM/email with questions or suggestions)

I am in no need for a guitar (please don't put my name in the hat) but think that this is very generous of you.

Don't have any names for you, but I think your idea is great!
Your generosity is a welcome trait this time of the year.
Thanks!

Default Fantastic idea!

Please put my name in the hat. If I win I do have an acquaintance who is very talented and who currently cannot buy her own instrument and I will be able to pass this kindness along and give her the guitar. Fingers crossed, and thanks for the opportunity!

(Thread moved here from Classifieds.)

What a wonderful, generous gesture! Don't include me, though I'm sure I could find someone worthy to receive it. I always enjoy seeing AGFers being kind and thoughtful of others.

Thanks for doing this. May your tribe increase!

What a wonderful thing to do! I know a young man (he plays in the "youth group" section at our church) that would love to have an acoustic-electric. Please enter me on his (Mark's) behalf -- that's who I would give it to. Did I say thanks? Thanks!

So, there really is a Santa Claus after all

Pete, That is a very wonderful thing that you are doing. Please put my name in the hat, I help with the local Boy Scouts and I would donate it to them and teach lessons.

God Bless you
Bill

A few years ago I gave away (via this forum) my Ovation.

I offered it to any chuch or 501c3 orginazation that wanted it. I got several offers.

The first came locally from Forensicguy and through him I donated the guitar to his church for use in the youth music classes.

When it was all over I had met a very nice guy; put my Ovation in the hands of and organization that could put it to good use; and I got a tax deduction.

Althought I hate to part with any possession, (I still have two 1960's Mustangs that go back to my college days) I fealt great pleasure to have donated the guitar.
