Thanks, M.D.

And best of all, it sounds as good as it looks... maybe better.

'dromeda... I'm sure I should already know this, but what features made your axes BTO? Is it the fretboard inlays?

Sweet...my next acoustic purchase is planned to be a custom job. Can you design your own inlays on these things?

You can't design your own to my knowledge. They give you an inlay design sheet with numerous inlays to choose from. It's cool. My GS is on the way, should be here in a couple of days! You can choose everything for these BTOs. The only way to go if its an option for you!!

Whoa-- what a beautiful guitar. I'm impressed that you knew what to ask for (the above list) and that it turned out so well.

I know what I like once I see it, but have a terrible time trying to picture things ahead of time, and/or what decisions to make to bring it about. Beautifully done, all the way around.

Default How to insert pictures

How do you guys insert the pictures?
It won't let me. I had to post a link instead (on another thread).

Also, how does the above Adi top play? Are you happy with it?

Both of my guitars are custom ordered although technically my W65 is not a BTO because I ordered it about a year before the BTO program was available.

Taylor W65 This guitar was basically an upgraded W65ce which was the standard model at the time. What I had done was omitted the cutaway and the electronics and substituted the Celtic inlays for the Early 900 series inlays. The rest of the appointments were standard to the W65ce at the time and were not an up charge.

I was expecting a W65 just like the ones that originally came out in 1998 which is why I omitted the cutaway and the electronics and substituted the Celtic inlays for the Early 900 series inlays. But it came with grafted Walnut and that was a big shock. The top had some sapwood on the upper bout so that took some getting used to. However the figure on the back and sides of this guitar was also spectacular and the sound of this one is just out of the world. I am very happy with the results.

Taylor Cedar-Rosewood Jumbo.I just love the early 900 series inlays so when I did a BTO on my next guitar I just had to have these inlays. I had fallen in love with the warmth of a cedar topped guitar and just had to have a jumbo with a cedar top. The cedar was really light in color when I received the guitar and at first I thought Taylor had made a mistake. but it was darker than spruce and the grain pattern along with the sound did demonstrate that it was indeed cedar. This guitar also just sounds amazing and I am very happy with this guitar.
