Default Your Favorite Guitarists, Living & Dead. Acoustic & Electric

I'm sure this has been done over and over here, but I haven't seen a thread like this in a while, so I'll start off. I'm at work, so I'll make this fast.

No parameters, really. Try to limit it to three each, if possible. It would also be cool to mention wehre or when or if you saw them in live performance, whether or dead. Mine are:

Acoustic:
Steve Goodman
Django
Tony Rice

Electric:
Mark Knophler (sp?)
Hendrix
Eddie Van Halen

Tony Rice, whom I've seen live a few times over the past 40+ years, is my all time favorite acoustic guitarist.

John Jorgenson is probably my favorite electric guitar player, although he's right up there on acoustic guitar and mandolin, too!

Vince Gill is really good on both!

So many greats I'm limiting myself to one each. If I try to think of three I end up with about 30 in my head. Seen them both many times, one still with us, the other greatly missed,
Acoustic : Tony Rice
Electric : Jerry Garcia

Jerry Garcia is number one for acoustic and electric. Not sure I have anyone else for acoustic. Too many others for electric. Just depends on the day.

My favorite acoustic player is unquestionably Django.
No matter how many times I hear his ancient recordings, I'm just amazed.

For electric: Seeing Peter Green play live in the late '60's got me started with electric, an incredible amount of soul and feel in just a few notes. Overall, I would choose Mark Knopfler for his great technique and his voluminous list of excellent songs!!!
