Radio Shack # 63-1013, 25 bucks, Temp/Rh, min/max memory.
Fits nicely in the case.

This is the one I have.

It was recommended by another TGF member. I think Taylorsmitten.

Cheers

I've had the Sper Scientific mentioned above for several months, and I've been happy with it. Don't know if it's any better than the Radio Shack model or not.

Well, I have two, and like the man with 2 clocks who is never sure what time it is, I am never sure if the humidity is too high or too low.

"Why, Joe, why?" you seem to ask.

The Springfield PreciseTemp (which includes a clock as well as an indoor/outdoor thermometer) says the humidity in this room is 48%. Ah, but the RadioShack unit says 40%. They were 5% apart at first and are now 8% apart. Relaibly so. So now I'm guessing the RH is 44%.

BTW the Springfield is a month old, the RS is maybe 9 years old.

I picked mine up at Radio Shack. It fits nicely inside the case.

Rick Crider bought a bunch of those for a bunch of us 6-8 months ago. They work great!

Also try: http://www.somervellguitars.com/hygrometer.html

Same price as Radio Shack and postage paid. Fits in case just fine.

Also, you can do a search on cigar accessories. These places have various types of hygrometers. In fact the Somervell Guitars model is for cigars too.

Radio Shack. I think I can recommended that one.

In Sweden we have humidity variations from 20% in midwinter to 75-80 in the worst rainy autumn, so I really must have one I can trust.

I also have the Rat Shack one and it works fine for me. Much better than those little toy analog ones that come with some humidifiers.

A hygrometer is an instrument that measures humidity. In order to keep your Tatlor (or any guitar, for that matter) in good condition, they should be maintained at an even humitidy, arounf 40-55%. Too much and too little is not a good thing. A hygrometer will help the more anal & obsessive among us keep better track of that.

I calibrated my Radio Shack hygrometer. It was 5% low at the calibration point (it indicated 73% instead of 78%). I read somewhere that bias is pretty constant through the useful range.
