colors of cedar
is there i difference in tone depending on what color cedar is?
ive seen some that looks somewhat close to sitka and others that have a very dark red/brown hue. just wonderin'

I don't know about sound directly, as I have had three cedar topped guitars but not at the same time!
The first two (514 and 714) were "light" in color, just a bit warmer than aged Sitka. The K14C cedar I have now has such a chocolatey brown top that at first I thought it had to be stained! |

Phil Keaggy's Olson is chocolatey brown and is lovely and warm. My cedar-top is oatmeal colored and also lovely and warm.
