Talking Introducing Myself

Hello,

Been reading the forum for about a year. Never thought to register but
it's a new years so why not.

I've started playing again about 2 years ago.
Had to learn all the chords again & I played like a snail but
I want to sing so I have to play for myself.

Finally getting better well, good enough to almost accompany myself.

I starting collecting classicals.
Have 3 Manual Rodriguez & a Kremona Romida RD5

Wanted a steel string

I wanted a Lowden. So researched those but still have not gotten a Lowden. Think the F is too big so it should be s S. Can't find many local & it's good to be able to play a guitar before buying.

Then I went to CA Vintage a while back to see a Don Musser & fell in love.

I'll start a new thread on my special baby.

This forum is bad. Too much guitar candy.

I am wanting another guitar but maybe I just have to spend more time with the Musser. It's barely broken in. It's a really great guitar but I have a fever when I like things I can't just have 1!

Smile Welcome!

Welcome to the Candy Store…. Hahahahah

Have fun and learn a ton

Two pieces of advice

Play a zillion instruments and find what fits and sounds great for and to YOU. Pay attention to neck carves, scale length, body shapes and size, etc.

Establish a good relationship with a top notch Tech/Luthier. Eventually it will probably pay off big time…
And you will probably meet some very interesting and nice folks!

Cheers

Paul

Welcome! and congratulations on the Musser.

It’s fun having a couple of different guitars if finances allow. I support what Paul says, getting out there and playing as many different acoustics as you can gives you a feel for what each maker brings to the table. A spruce/rosewood Goodall sounds very different to a Martin in the same woods, and they both sound very different to a Taylor in the same woods. Size impacts as well, often for comfort as much as for sound.

Welcome to the forum, Universe. You’ll find endless enablers on here, so it’s up to you to maintain financial discipline and not just buy every guitar that catches your fancy!

It’s all too easy to do…..

For sure. Reading the forum typically leads to more guitars (14 for me since I joined), which is a good or bad thing depending on your perspective and finances. But there are several Jedis here who maintain a healthy discipline. Follow their lead, as they usually post really good advice. I'm slowly learning restraint myself.

And congrats on the new Musser!

What? Are you saying that you’ve bought 14 guitars in the last 10 months?

Talking Need To Purge

This forum is dangerous! How many guitars can you play? LOL

I have too many classical guitars. I find the Musser is the easiest to sing with as the notes are in my ears perfect.

My living room is full of guitar cases! 6 guitars in total.

3 Manual Rodriguez
1 Kremona Romida RD5
1 Maya something I picked up for $25 which is a decent for the price Japanese guitar from about the 1990's. Sure it's laminated but the body woods have some sort of flame figuring & think it's mahogany.

I was into the deeper darker rich full sounds of the classical & of course the ease of the fingers but after getting a really good steel string I love how the notes are just so perfect still my best classical is a FC & it's probably $2000 new. The Don Musser was a deep pocket stretch but once I played it I had to have it.
