Nice guitar. My McIlroy is Walnut and Spruce (in my case Sitka). I think it's a good combo. Have fun....

Very pretty! So is it a W14ce, with the Florentine cutaway and abalone purfling as upgrades? Or is it just totally a custom?

looks like 914ce, change wood to walnut, add florentine. w14ce + abalone actually works out to costing more

well i originally wanted a w14ce, but taylor doesnt make them anymore. So, because i also wanted 600 series fingerboard inlays, we decided to get a 614ce with wood substitutions. changed to walnut b&s and englemann top (which was no charge). the neck was changed to mahagony as well. then we added the florentine, abalone, and headstock inlay.

so thats that. as a shameless plug, i ordered it at appalachian bluegrass in Catonsville, Maryland. Can't say enough good things about the store and Tim, the guy who helped me through with everything. Even when we ran into some difficulty (taylor sent me my guitar 2 months earlier but the custom stuff i wanted was either changed or not included by mistake), they worked everything out well. so this guitar came a bit late, but its worth every second i waited.

WOW! Wonderful looking guitar. Love the wood and love the florentine cutaway! Good thing you have bindings on your headstock. It just looks off without them to me on a guitar like this. Congrats!
